I learnt my rates and ratios

First my team had to do fractions.

Then we had a lesson with Miss White, she told us what rates and ratios are and put on a video to watch what talked about rate and ratios.

Lastly I had to answer some questions where I had to answer what the ratio was.

I liked this task because I learnt more about my rates and ratios, but I think I need to improve my rates,but I think I’m good at my ratios.

This week I learnt how to add fractions.

First I had to learn what the denominator and the numerator is, the denominator is the bottom number what also is how many parts I have, the numerator what is the top number what also is how many parts that has been divided 

Then I had to add fractions,for example I had to add fractions like 5/6 and 9/6, I also learnt that you can only add the numerator when the denominator is the same.

Lastly I had to answer all the questions on a form.

I liked this task because I learnt more about adding fractions, but I think I need to get better at adding them, but I think I’m good at finding the answer.

First I did Daily Dollar Lvl 3, daily dollar is a game where you have to answer up to 5 questions. If you answer all of them right you can get about 100 dollars.We had to try and get the most money in the class to see who was the smartest.

Then I did Maths Millionaire Y6-8 where there were 12 questions and if I got it right I would get 2 048 dollars.

Lastly I did Survivor Series Lvl 3, I had to try and find a random picture.

I enjoyed this task because I learnt more maths, but I think I need to get better at answering the question.

This week I have been learning about patterns, I also learnt about how to use patterns in maths.

First I learnt about patterns. For example I learnt that you have to find the things that make the patterns, like if there was a star circle and Square then back to a star I know that star circle and Square is the pattern.

I then learnt that patterns are things that repeat themselves over and over again.

Lastly, I had to make a slide with patterns made of things, I had to make five what was a shape, colours, object, letter and a number.

This week I learnt about Mass.

I learnt about mass by taking grams and kilograms and converting it, convert means mean to change for example if the there is 5432 grams is can be convert to 5.432kg,I only convert grams into to kilograms and kilograms into grams, the difference between grams and kilograms is that kilograms has thousand of grams, so to make a kilogram you need thousand of grams.

Lastly I made a poster about converting grams and kilograms.

Today I did basic facts maths practice. Basic facts maths pratice is like a test but there is levels for you age, year for example if your year 5 you go to stage 6.

First I went to stage 7 because thats the year 6 stage I done questions like timestable but it was timed to see how much I can do and how much.

Then I looked at how much I got done.

Lastly I wrote 10 wrong questions in my maths book

Today I did times tables practice, one timed test and the other not timed.

First I went to the 2-9 times tables and made it a timed test.

Then I had to try and get as many questions as I can right when it was timed.

Then I had to mark it to see how much I did right.

Then I did a sheet one where I didin’t have to time it, here is my answers.

I think I need to improve on recalling my times tables quickly, but I think I’m good at the non timed one.
