Treaty Of Waitangi

For an activerty this term we got to learn more about the Treaty Of Waitangi

I learnt alot more about the treaty of waitangi and it really opens my eyes to reality, I learnt the amount of Maori people who fought for their rights and how the treaty was a big effect to Aotearoa New zealand, for this task I worked with a group of people, we had to read and find out more information to make the DLO which is shown up top by researching more and reading alot.

I enjoyed this task as I learnt more about the past and history of New Zealand.

Matariki Star

This week we got to create a Matariki star using a story of our choice.

For my star I chose to do one based off Maui and the sun, when looking at mine you will see ropes hanging off the sun, this represents how Maui and his brothers used “the ropes” to keep the sun down, then the corners of the star has 4 dark sides and 4 light sides, this is to show how Maui and his brothers created day and night to be equal to each other, if not there would be more night then day, the rest of the things in my star is for design.

After I finished my star I put it on a slide where everyone would be voting on who’s were the best or who they thought had the best ideas, when voting was done we found out the Keira, Dililah, Siniva, and Lisea got picked most, overall I think they will make an breath-taking star.

I found this activerty interesting as I got to see many different ideas and many beautiful stars.

Vision broad 2024

This term LS2 created new vision broads which showcased our goals we want to archive at the end of the year


For my vision broad I put a netball player named Ameliaranne, because when I grow up I want to be the same as her, I also want to get into Selwyn collage as all my cousins and friends go there, I also want to get better at my maths and reading, to do this I will have to focus, lisen and ask more questions when needed, lastly I want to get a math reward at the end of the year.

I enjoyed sharing my goals, as it helps me realize I can archive them.

Kawa of Care

LI: to understand the things I may have to do inorder to keep my Chromebook safe

I completed the kawa of care quest, this quest is to understand and learn how to take care of my Chromebook, there was a test where I had to answered all the questions right because if I made an mistake I wouldn’t pass, this made the test more challenging and more fun . One of the questions was “when using your chromebook no ??? is allowed near you?” There were 2 options what were food and drinks or books, I chose the opion food and drinks and got it right.

I found this task interesting and fun because it strengthen my knowledge on how to keep my Chromebook safe.

My Taniwha Name

LI: to create and use our creativity to make a taniwha which presents our name.


This week LS2 got to create a taniwha which represented our names, I chose to make a purple colourful taniwha, to do this I got to scearch up ideas, I found many but none really got my attention so I looked at other taniwhas what my friends were making, everybody had really beutiuful taniwhas and I got many idea, these ideas made my taniwha look awsome.

I really enjoyed this task because art is my favourite subject.

Provocation

LI: to understand both sides and opinions

An activerty we got to do in LS2 “learning space 2” was to learn about an event with happened in the past, it was about how two men stole and tried to sell badges which were given to those who sacrificed their lives in war, or to those who lost family because of war, we then learnt that their punishment was 13 years in prison, our group first thought that the punishment wasn’t enought and it doesn’t fit the crime, that was perspective A, we then went around as a class and told each other our opioins so we could maybe change how others thought, when we had done that we had to make a perspective B, for our perspective B we talked about how the punishment did fit the crime, and at the end we had to combined the two to make our last opinion.

I enjoyed this task because I liked the amount of collaboration.

A moment in time Poem – Maungarei

LI: To discirbe a poem about a moment in time

For wirtting this week we had a challenge where we had to create a poem using our experience on the maunga, but there was a twist, we had to add what we thought happened in the past to as it is present.

Panmure Bridge school went up Maungarei, when we got back to school we had a challenge where we had to create a poem using our experience up mt wellington, we had to use what we felt, heard, saw, and wondered, we also had to add what we thought our tupuna felt, heard, saw and wondered.

I enjoyed this task as a trip came with it.

LI: to name place and total values up to millions and two decimal place


For an activerty our class got to strengthen our knowledge on our place values.

Firstly Miss Fisi’iahi resesive our memory by reminding us what the place value house is and how it is used to help more people understand, when we all understood what we were doing, all groups got a special number that we had to work on, our number was 77,375, we had to work and find out what digits were in what place and how many ones tens hundreds ext were in the number.

I enjoyed this activerty as I really understood it which made it more easier to learn and understand.

Moment in time poem – Polar Bear

LI: To discirbe a poem about a moment in time

For wirtting this week we had a challenge where we had to create a poem using a video, the video was about a polar bear and a man, inorder to do this we had to imagine ourselfs in the mans shoes and we had to express how we would feel if we were him.

We did this in groups because in our class we belive that in groups we work better, after we watched the video we wrote down on our white broads what we heard, after we had completed writing down everything we heard, we picked 3 word which we had to make better and stronger, we did the same with “I felt, I saw, and I wondered”.

Then we used this information to make and create our poem, I enjoyed this task as it was interesting to put myself in his shoes and I found it exciting as I got to find out new word therefore I could grow my vocabulary.

Copyright and Attribution

Copy right is when you don’t have the right to copy off someone, for example when you are using someone’s picture and dont give them credits, it doesn’t only count with pictures it goes the same with games, songs, videos and more, but Attribution is when you give credits to the author for the piece they made therefore you have the right to use it and when people take a look at your work they will see who and where you got that piece of work from.

I like this task as I can share and tell more people about copyright so they dont make any mistakes in the future.
